About me

Wakas Mir

I'm an ordinary Pakistani guy living in Norway, and I've been hosting radio shows since 1994. It's been an incredible journey, and I've had the privilege of reaching millions of listeners from all around the world. My talks revolve around life, society, relationships, beliefs, and our collective mindset as individuals. I'm known for being straightforward, but I always make sure to keep my shows respectful and free from any offensive language. It's important to me to leave a positive and meaningful impact, so I strive to create content that's both decent and valuable.

In 2007, my radio show received recognition for being the Best TV & Radio site and the Most Popular TV & Radio site. It was an amazing feeling to know that I was connecting with so many people worldwide. As time went on, around 2010, I shifted my focus to a more belief-based show that explores different aspects of life and society.

Aside from my passion for podcasting, I also manage a supplement store in Norway. Via SaafPaani.org, I work towards providing clean water to communities in need, and I'm also involved in fundraising efforts through UmmahFund and Spleis. Making a positive difference in the world is something that truly matters to me.

Where am I from and what else do I do?

I was born in Lahore, Pakistan, and also spent some time in Gujrat before relocating to Norway when I was 8 years old. Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to travel back and forth between Pakistan and various other countries. During one of my visits to Pakistan, I attended Government College University before eventually moving to England.

In England, I embarked on my professional journey as a Designer at DotMusic, and later on transitioned as a Senior Designer at MSB International PLC. Subsequently, I returned to Norway after a few years and began working for prominent media organizations such as NTB, which can be seen as the Norwegian equivalent of Reuters. Within NTB, I assumed the position of Interactive Project Manager. Following my tenure at NTB, I joined Aller Media, another notable media agency. At Aller Media, I undertook the role of Web Master responsible for managing all their diverse websites. In my final year at the company, I had the privilege of serving as the Product Manager, overseeing the online sales segment.
